Sports and games: An experiment in Reparations.

To see how reparations would affect the fabric of society, I propose these changes to our sports and games. It would be interesting if the eligible players would take advantage of these reparations’ changes to their events. In team sports, would White players become too much of a liability? Would basketball and American football become exclusive African Americans-only sports? I find it interesting that neither Biden nor Harris has made an honest effort to implement reparations despite what they promised while campaigning for the presidency.

I am neither for, nor against the notion of reparation for our African Americans. The question of fairness and sportsmanship will be raised in these changes to our sports and games.

Basketball

If a White player fouls a Black player, then the Black player may go to the reparation foul line that will be two feet closer to the basket.

There will be a four-foot diameter circle at the apex of the three-point arc. When a White player scores a basket, immediately following the play, a Black player may enter the reparation circle. Baskets are worth five points from the reparation circle. A White player shall not enter the reparation five-point circle. A White player shall be ejected from the game any time he/she enters the reparation five-point circle. When reparation points are scored, the scoreboard shall flash; { REPARATION POINTS } three times.

Golf

Black players may choose to go to the reparation tees which shall be six feet beyond the woman’s tee.  If a Black player’s ball lands in a sand-trap, that player may pick up the ball and take a reparation drop within two feet from the sand-trap on the hole side after informing the official. The official shall announce the reparation drop.

Chess

When a Black player is matched with a White player, there shall be one reparation move extra when the Black player has the black pieces, he/she may choose to take a reparation move any time after the first twenty moves. How this would work; the Black player would signal to the official that he/she intends to take a reparation move while it is the White player’s turn. This means the Black player may move twice when it is his/her turn. I will note that I could beat Magnus Carlsen, the world champion, if I had two moves in a row.

Football

When a White player commits a foul against a Black player, the Black player’s coach may inform the referees that he wants reparation enhanced yardage. That yardage shall be double of that standard yardage. The scoreboard shall flash three times; { REPARATION YARDAGE } any time those yardages are logged. Any White player that commits three fouls against Black players shall be ejected from the game.

In closing, some would argue that White people have had four hundred years of winning and it’s time for African Americans to have their turn at winning.
