The nation’s Praetorian Guard saves the Republic.

This is a short screenplay in which the United States Secret Service [ USSS ] saves the nation. 

The characters: USSS site supervisor, David Buttons.

USSS agent Stephen Harris.

USSS agent Karm Luplen.

FBI lawyer Matt Luplen.

FBI Counterintelligence Assistant Director Frank Thompson.

FBI  Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence Division, Karen Norris.

ACT I

Morning muster, shift change in Delaware at the home of Joe Biden.

David Buttons: Last night there was small arms fire within blocks from the residence. Local police were unable to locate the person or persons responsible. Death threats are a continuing concern. The woman in the photo is Karen Norton. She is a person of interest. If you see her, she is to be detained for questioning by the FBI. Thanks all, be vigilant.

Karm Luplen and Stephen Harris are at post 3.

Karm Luplen: My husband, Matt, has seen a report from Israeli intelligence on Joe Biden and Hunter. He told me that it lines up with what has been released from Hunter’s laptop drive.

Stephen Harris: It’s too bad that information didn’t come out before the election so the voters could have an informed vote.

Karm Luplen: It wouldn’t have had an impact on the election, we know there were shenanigans in this election. Biden couldn’t eclipse Obama’s popular vote by ten million votes and Clinton’s by fourteen million votes. For Christ’s sake, Biden sat out two-thirds of the campaign days in the basement. 

Stephen Harris: Maybe there was so much hatred for Trump? Perhaps, that caused an epic turn-out for the Dems and defects of Rs for Biden?

Karm Luplen: No, the narrative of defections doesn’t jive with what we saw at every rally of Trump’s where thousands of people chanted, “We love you.” And few people attended Biden’s rallies when he bothered to campaign. I think Biden knew months in advance that the fix was in. His behavior tells anyone with a lick of common sense that Biden knew there was a conspiracy for election tampering.

Stephen Harris: Well…

David Buttons enters the post.

David Buttons: All good?

Stephen Harris: Yes.

Karm Luplen: Yup.

David Buttons: Carry on.

David Buttons leaves.

Karm Luplen: And, there was no explanation for why Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan at the same time stopped the vote counting. Election shenanigans were afoot!

Stephen Harris: Karm, such speculation is not the mission of ours or the Secret Service. Our job is to protect whoever takes the oath of office for the presidency…period. If there were crimes committed during the election, that’s the purview of the FBI. I don’t want to hear anymore.

Karm Luplen: Fine.

Act II

The Hoover Building, FBI headquarters: Matt Luplen, Karen Norris, and Frank Thompson in a discussion regarding the Hunter laptop hard-drive and the report from the Israeli Intelligence service. 

Matt Luplen: This report rings true with the backstop from the hard-drive. Was the report generated before the details from the hard-drive were made public?

Frank Thompson: Yes, we received the report a full year before Giuliani released the details from the hard-drive.

Karen Norris: Evidence of crimes on the hard-drive and reports of crimes in the report. What a mess. 

Frank Thompson: Biden will be our next president. I will remind you all as to why the Bureau hasn’t asked the DOJ for indictments. Look at what the AG said.

Karen Norris: Has this report made it into the wild?

Matt Luplen: Yes, the intermediary that gave it to the President released it on social media after the hard-drive disclosures, however, no one of importance in the publishing biz reprinted it.

Karen Norris: So, we do have a two-tiered justice system.

Frank Thompson: Pretty much, yup.

Matt Luplen: Is that a revelation to you, Karen?

Frank Thompson: To be clear, all of this information is TS. The Director wants this buried. Understood?

Matt Luplen: Yes.

Karen Norris: Yup.

Frank Thompson: We are done here.

Act III

Karm Luplen takes leave to go to the doctor.

Doctor: What makes you come to see me today?

Karm Luplen: My legs have been feeling weird. When I go to crouch, my muscles jerk in pulses. My right leg is hard to move when I’m outside and it’s below forty degrees. I cough when I try to drink from a soda can, the drink goes down the wrong pipe. And, when I try to blow my nose, the air comes out of my mouth.

Doctor: Let’s run some tests. But, I’m afraid that you have…

At the Luplen home. The day of Karm’s visit to the Doctor. 

Matt: So did the groundhog emerge today?

Karm: Ha, ha, Biden’s call-sign is classified. Who told you? giggling… I want the details from Israel on Biden.

Matt: I shouldn’t…

Karm: It is my duty to take a bullet for him…I want to know if he is worthy of my sacrifice.

Matt: You could transfer.

Karm: Are you implying he’s a traitor?

Matt: Let’s not do this.

Karm: The pieces are lining up. Biden cheated in law school. For Pete’s sake! Law school! Then he plagiarized from President Kennedy and others in his speeches during his campaign run for the Senate. Plagiarism is theft! Does the FBI have evidence of election tampering? And, did Biden and Harris know?

Matt: Again, let’s not do this…

Karm: Sweetheart, your non-answer speaks volumes. Biden is either a traitor or he has been compromised by one or more foreign powers. Biden’s schmoozing up to China even during the pandemic which China caused with the report you won’t discuss, is the information that this government hid from the voters. Matt, you need to blow the whistle on this corruption.

Matt: I’m out. Call me when it’s safe to come back.

Karm: Really?

Two hours pass. Matt returns home.

Karm: I’m sorry for pressing you, Sweetheart.

Matt: I will tell you what I saw on Hunter’s hard-drive and what’s in the Israeli intelligence report if you promise to put in a transfer from the protection of the Bidens and Harris.

Karm: I promise.

Matt: This is what I know…

Act IV

Doctor calls;

Karm Luplen: Hello.

Doctor: The result show…

Karm Luplen stops her car at a park on the way to the Biden residence to pen a letter to her supervisor, David Buttons.

Biden: Tom, question?

Tom: Mister President-Elect, you said at your campaign stumps that President Trump had banned all Muslims from the country. That is not so. Two examples, for instance, there is no religious test for the United Kingdom citizens who wish to travel to the United States. And, Saudi Arabia Kingdom citizens travel freely to the United States. Sir, you lied!

Biden: So what! I won, didn’t I? Every lie, every action was justified in the removal of that racist from the Oval Office…period…full-stop!

Tom: So, Mister President-Elect, you were telling the truth when you said on October 24th, 2020, quote, “We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.”

Biden: Tom, you are a damn liar! I never said such a thing

Tom: Respectfully, Mister President-Elect, you did say that; I have the recording on my phone. I will play it.

Biden: Obviously, I misspoke.

Tom: Well, why didn’t you or your campaign correct that misstatement?

Biden: It was an oversight by me and my campaign.

Kelly: Mister President-Elect, you called Tom a liar.

Biden: Tom is a liar, Kelly you are a  liar also. Kelly, are you going to compound your mistake by claiming that you and Tom have never told a lie? C’mon man, get real.

Biden: John do you have a question?

John: Mister President-Elect, I want to get a clarification on your policy regarding China’s trade practices. On 10/30 you said, quote, “I’ll lead an effective strategy to mobilize trunalimunumaprzure.” unquote,  What’s the definition of trunalimunumaprzure?

Harris: John, ask a serious question.

John: No answer? Okay, Senator Harris, you said that you believed all of Joe Biden’s sexual assault accusers which does include Tara Reade who accused Mister Biden of rape. Do you still believe that the President-Elect is a rapist?

Harris…Laughing

Biden: C’mon man, John you are a joke, seriously!

John: Well, Mister President-Elect, I would have asked that question of Mike Pence if he had said that he believed President Trump is a rapist.

Biden: We ain’t Trump! That’s why the people elected me!

Biden: Steve, question? 

Steve: Mister President-Elect, on June 11, 2019, you said, quote, “I’ve worked so hard in my career, that I promise you, if I’m elected president you’re gonna see the single most important thing that changes America, we’re gonna cure cancer.” Where is your cure for cancer?

Biden: Kamala, we have a bunch of ugly jokers posing as journalists with us today. Steve, I haven’t taken office yet.

Steve: You said if we elected you, well we did, Sir.

Biden: Get your head screwed on straight, Jack!

Steve: So, how many months into your presidency before you give the country the cure for all cancers?

Biden: Steve, you must be on Trump’s payroll. Kelly, question?

Kelly: Mister President-Elect, on September 18, 2020, regarding the pandemic you said, quote, “If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive. All the people. I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data.” My question to you is, how many months into your presidency do the deaths of Americans become a sign of you not doing your job?

Just then, USSS agent Karm Luplen bolts toward the two tables where Biden and Harris are sitting before the reporters. Karm Luplen yells, for the Republic, and with that, she fires five shots. Two killing Joe Biden and two killing Senator Kamala Harris. The final shot is to Karm Luplen’s head which kills her instantly.

Epilogue

The USSS agents race to secure the scene amidst the pandemonium of the reporters’ screams and rushing about in no particular direction. Site USSS supervisor, David Buttons, knelt over Karm Luplen’s body and noticed a folded paper in Karm Luplen’s shirt pocket. David Buttons took the paper and read what Karm Luplen had written just two hours before. Karm Luplen had kept her promise to her husband. The letter was a request for a transfer.

Thirty minutes before the shooting Karm Luplen had passed a flash drive to a reporter. The reporter left the Biden residence after he answered the USSS agent’s questions. The reporter pulled over to get his laptop out of the car’s trunk. He plugged in the flash drive and he saw that the video file’s had a time lock that wouldn’t expire for two more hours.

The reporter continued on his way to his office. After he and the editor ate their takeout dinner, the time lock on the video file had expired. He and the editor saw Karm Luplen in her car. She spoke as to what was on Hunter Biden’s hard drive, what Israeli Intelligence had reported, and evidence that the FBI had that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had entered into a conspiracy for election tampering. Karm Luplen described her love for her husband, but her love for her country in her mind had to take precedent over the hardship that she was going to impose upon him through her actions of eliminating the threat posed by the impending Biden administration and her disclosure that he had leaked classified information to her.

Next, she revealed the catalyst that freed her to act to save the Republic. She said the doctor had confirmed that she had a slow-moving form of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which is Primary lateral sclerosis. The former kills people within three to five years, while the latter takes ten or more years to kill the person.

She described her symptoms and she could not bear the thought of her husband seeing her decay into a wheelchair-bound vegetable that was unable to speak, unable to feed herself, and worst of all the indignity of being unable to toilet herself. Karm Luplen’s video was on all of the networks that evening.

The End

I wrote this short play in response to what the New York Times printed four years ago. The New York Times printed a fantasy article where a Secret Service agent kills President Trump. Also, ten years ago, I kicked around an idea about a shadow government that would exact justice upon those who are above the law. The assassins would be terminally ill people. Preferably, people that had combat experience. There would be a network of doctors that fed candidates into a pool for overt and covert operations. Five Judges would hear cases brought to them by Senators. There would be benefactors that would help the families of persons who completed their missions to rebalance the scales of justice. 

The Praetorian Guard was an elite soldier unit that was charged with the protection of Rome’s emperors. More than once, the Praetorian Guard killed the emperors for the benefit of the Republic and later the Empire. The quotes cited in the presser are actual quotes from Joe Biden.
