Dear Megyn Kelly, I watched your show on Monday, March 2nd. It is understandable why you feel betrayed by President Trump. Megyn, you don’t have all of the facts as to why President Trump has attacked Iran again. I write to President Trump often. All of my correspondence urged President Trump not to attack Iran until I learned on the 21st of February.
I repeatedly warned President Trump that the Houthis’ attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea were a major contributing factor to elevated global inflation. These disruptions—rerouting vessels around the Cape of Good Hope, surging freight rates, skyrocketing insurance premiums, and widespread supply chain delays—directly drove up costs for goods worldwide, adding hundreds of basis points to core inflation in some estimates and exacerbating persistent price pressures long after the initial post-pandemic surge.
I urged him that the Houthis needed to be decisively eliminated as a threat to restore freedom of navigation and stabilize global trade. Moreover, every Houthi assault on commercial vessels should be treated as an Iranian operation: Tehran provides the weapons, funding, intelligence, and direction that enable these attacks, making Iran fully accountable for the economic damage inflicted on the world.
The Houthis were perpetrating acts of war in the Red Sea on behalf of Iran’s Supreme Leader, while the Supreme Leader himself was orchestrating acts of war in the Persian Gulf and in the Gulf of Oman.
Megyn, I hold an old-school perspective on responding to acts of war: Civilians bear responsibility for the actions of their government, as they sustain it through labor, resources, and production—including the munitions that fuel the military. Thus, in times of war, civilians can become legitimate targets. I urged President Trump to adopt a total war posture if conflict with Iran proved unavoidable.
On February 21, 2026, I learned that the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group had endured relentless assaults from the Houthis, expending approximately $1.16 billion in munitions during its defensive operations for freedom of navigation from October 2023 to mid-July 2024, which included firing some 770 weapons such as SM-2 and SM-6 missiles.
I wrote to President Trump, clamoring for retribution against Iran, and stated, “Mr. President, you have my blessings to make total war on Iran.” That said, Megyn, I always defer to President Trump’s judgment—he possesses the comprehensive, classified intelligence on sources and methods that we lack.
I advised President Trump that Iran’s Supreme Leader is a 14th-century Islamic fanatic who will never cease his pursuit of eliminating all infidels and would never consent to on-demand, on-site inspections. I drew this insight from my college studies of similar historical fanatics. Prior to February 21, I told him that the Iranian people had chosen their path by aligning with these extremists, and they must lie in the bed they’ve made. But after that date, amid the escalating costs and threats, I suggested bombing Iran with the unyielding zeal of a 14th-century Islamic fanatic until the Iranian people themselves delivered the Supreme Leader’s head in a box.
These actions by President Trump address the root of those inflationary pressures that you have decried in the past—ending Iran’s ability to choke global shipping through proxies.”
Finally, make no mistake: Even if these 14th-century Islamic fanatics are ousted from power, Iranian society won’t transform into a paradise for women overnight. Many men have grown accustomed to wielding absolute authority over women, and we could see continued acid attacks on those who defy Islamic standards of modesty in dress.
Sincerely,
Mark Pullen, P.S. I am a Zionist, but I oppose any financial aid to any nation, given our impending national debt crisis.
