Even though I have extensive brain damage, it shames me that I didn’t realize sooner why Iran remains defiant in the face of America’s might. I was particularly right about Iran’s similarities to North Korea, but I missed this obvious aspect. Both North Korea and Iran have militaries that will kill their citizens in the tens of thousands at once at the orders of the rulers—Iran’s Supreme Leader and North Korea’s Dear Leader, Kim Jong Un. This ability of the leaders of these regimes renders them invincible to any uprising by the citizenry. Therefore, sanctions alone will not cause a regime change. The internal economies of these two countries are not a factor in a civilian revolution. How Kim Jong Un keeps his military loyal to him is how the Supreme Leaders have done for 50 years.

I only have my suspicion to rely upon as to why President Trump did not destroy Iran’s regime in the early hours of the war, and what stays his hand now. Iran is a useful cudgel against President Trump for both Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin. It might be that either of them have told President Trump that if he truly tries to conquer Iran, they will give Iran’s regime nuclear weapons. Russia is the obvious source because Iran’s Caspian Sea ports remain unfettered to receive shipments from Russia.

Lastly, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s threat of a “doomsday war” might be an indication of Xi Jinping’s and Vladimir Putin’s intentions to nuclear-arm Iran’s regime.

Your Royal Highness,

The October 7th Hamas attacks have excluded the possibility of a two-state solution. Excuse me for saying the obvious. That condition of Your Royal Highness is a “just because” excuse to hide Your Royal Highness’s bigotry. Your Royal Highness would have picked any other impossible condition for the Israelis to fulfill if the October 7th attacks had not occurred. The honest thing to do is to stop asking for help from the Israelis through back channels, and publicly admit your hatred for the Jews. I have always given President Trump my honest views, even at the risk of rejection. Your Royal Highness does not need a multitude of yes-men advisors, but instead a few advisors who will tell you the unvarnished truth.

Your Royal Highness, I have been assessing the likelihood that Iran will succumb to President Trump’s sanctions and the Persian Gulf blockade, and whether this miraculous event happens after America’s midterm elections. I have learned never to underestimate President Trump’s abilities; however, I don’t believe he can overcome this historic precedent. North Korea has a similar rule over its people, albeit more brutal in its ways. Decades of sanctions have not brought any meaningful changes.

What does this mean for the security of Your Royal Highness’s Kingdom? Historic precedents bear clearly that only Total War tactics deliver an unconditional surrender. Since the unconditional surrender of Japan in 1945, the United States has not had any country surrender to it. President Trump said on the public record that he would settle for nothing less than an unconditional surrender from Iran. I might be doing what I said I would not do—underestimate President Trump’s abilities—but I am of the belief that President Truman was the last American president capable of securing an unconditional surrender from the enemy. That means the responsibility to defeat Iran lands squarely on Your Royal Highness’s shoulders.
