Proportional warfare is a recipe for losing.

Dear readers, I stand mystified about how we cannot achieve a total victory over Iran. To find out why, I examined the past 20 years of Israel. Israel’s IDF has no equal in the Middle East. So, why does the Israeli citizenry live under nearly constant missile and drone attacks? The answer is proportional counterstrikes.

Israel is being held back by the International Community of nations in a form of proportional warfare. The Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iran are free to target Israeli citizens with no consequences; however, Israel is being held to an impossible standard of inflicting the least amount of civilian casualties.

I saw the people in massive crowds cheering the returning Hamas fighters with their Jewish prisoners. The Gaza citizens joined in beating the prisoners. What I saw especially disturbing was a group of children no older than 8 years of age beating an Israeli toddler with switches. The toddler cried out while the Palestinian children laughed in unbridled glee.

Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t order the IDF to wipe out all of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. Why? I would’ve written off the prisoners as casualties of war. Israel must show its adversaries that taking Israeli hostages is a death sentence for them. I would’ve killed the entire Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip by carpet bombing every city and village.

In the end, the IDF only delivered pinpricks of retribution. The Palestinians were not held accountable for the crimes against humanity that their elected government committed.

The United States has also fallen into this trap that Israel finds itself in. I have told the White House many times about my post-9/11 War Doctrine: The people are responsible for the actions of their government, and the government is responsible for the actions of its citizens outside its borders. I advised President Bush to destroy all 13 of the Saudi’s desalination water plants in retribution for the 9/11 attacks.

The population in Saudi Arabia has outstripped the natural water sources by a thousandfold. My retribution would’ve killed millions of the Kingdom’s citizens. The population would have been reduced to the level before the discovery of oil.

I was astonished to see General Caine paying tribute to our civilians who work in munition plants and in logistical support to our military. The reason for my astonishment was that I had told the White House that the Iranian citizens were legitimate targets because they support the military by supplying food, revenue, and munitions.

I immediately shot off an email to the White House that read, General Caine has proven me right that civilians are legitimate targets. I followed up by recapping my previous arguments.

The fervor in the Iranian citizenry is fed by the fact that they haven’t tasted the bitter terror of warfare. It’s easy to march in the streets while chatting, “Death to Israel! “Death to America!” if you know that neither of those nations will do unto you as you have done unto them.

In closing, I assert that proportional warfare is the plague of the 21st century because it enables endless conflicts that prolong human suffering.
