Alex Pretti died needlessly because he didn’t exercise due caution. He should have approached calmly, kept his distance from the ongoing event, and asked questions from afar instead of inserting himself. Pretti could have raised his hands high to show no intent to interfere, stayed back, and followed every officer’s command without resistance. Had he done this, he’d still be alive.
